Hair Straightening Aftercare Tips

Once your hair’s been straightened, it's important to take proper care of it. Here are some tips for keeping your hair looking its best:

Don’t wash your hair for at least 48 hours; this will allow the treatment time to set in.
Always use a shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for colour-treated or straightened hair; they’re formulated to be gentle on your scalp and provide extra hydration.
Avoid using heat styling equipment, even with a heat protectant; the higher temperatures can damage your hair’s new structure.
Comb your hair gently; use a wide tooth comb on wet hair and brush sparingly when it’s dry.
Keep indoor swimming to a minimum; chlorinated water can strip your new colour and damage the straightening treatment.
Use weekly deep conditioners for added hydration and shine.
